Tunisia's image on wikipedia

LISTEN UP EVERYONE!

  • Do you care about the image of Tunisia in the world?
  • Do you LOVE Tunisia ( okay, now I am getting romantic...seriously) ?
  • Do you have an idea who Abulkacem El Chebbi was ( birth-death-important works is better than none)?
  • Can you write a simple biography of Ali ben Ayyed or Hedi Jouini?
  • THEN PLEASE GO TO WIKIPEDIA AND EDIT AN ARTICLE, IT IS SIMPLE AND EASY!

The fact is ,anyone can edit on wikipedia ( modify articles or write new ones), if you speak Arabic, french or English then go a head, no one can speak of Tunisia better than a Tunisian, stop by wikipedia time to time and edit about your hometown, a Tunisian personality or anything Tunisian!

I find it a little ironic that a BelgecemBougenna biography exists (who is he by the way?) while there is no reference to Ali Riahi...don't you?

If YOU don't care about Tunisia, then no one else will!! (isn't that uncle Sam?)

Anyhow, please, stop by Wikipedia time to time, and make a difference by contributing to Tunisian articles.

Okay, the speech is over (for now), back to me! I am getting on the road to my dorm room in a few hours, and I didn't bother to sleep (it is 2:00 am) , I guess I am too excited about meeting the people I will share my dorm room with, for the rest of the year.

I met with a friend this afternoon who gave me a book titled "I married a communist" by Philip Roth as a sort of good bye gift, not that she is generous or anything, but she was so shocked by the fact that I didn't know who Philip Roth was ( "OMG? What? You don't know P.Roth, nooooo, I can't believe it! You must be kidding me, are you sure? You poor thing) that she decided it was necessary to pass me the book, don't worry, I made my point by reminding her that she had no idea who Mahfouz was (ended up in a cat fight).

Don't forget to check out wikipedia: Search for your hometown article, edit it if needed, go to music of Tunisia and check out what can be done (wink to our musician: Emina).

Thank you all and be well!

I ll let u know what I think about it as soon as I read it!

A big number of articles alredy exist on wikipedia about Tunisia but most of them are in French.
Even a project exists, it'a aim is to collect all the work that is done over Tunisia.
Last but not least, a quality portal in French exists for Tunisia, collecting the best articles about our country.
The problem is now that ATI censored access to wikipedia since the 24th of November, so no work can be done on it...
Tunisian Wikipedia community is sad...
