Tunisia's image on wikipedia

LISTEN UP EVERYONE!

  • Do you care about the image of Tunisia in the world?
  • Do you LOVE Tunisia ( okay, now I am getting romantic...seriously) ?
  • Do you have an idea who Abulkacem El Chebbi was ( birth-death-important works is better than none)?
  • Can you write a simple biography of Ali ben Ayyed or Hedi Jouini?
  • THEN PLEASE GO TO WIKIPEDIA AND EDIT AN ARTICLE, IT IS SIMPLE AND EASY!

The fact is ,anyone can edit on wikipedia ( modify articles or write new ones), if you speak Arabic, french or English then go a head, no one can speak of Tunisia better than a Tunisian, stop by wikipedia time to time and edit about your hometown, a Tunisian personality or anything Tunisian!

I find it a little ironic that a BelgecemBougenna biography exists (who is he by the way?) while there is no reference to Ali Riahi...don't you?

If YOU don't care about Tunisia, then no one else will!! (isn't that uncle Sam?)

Anyhow, please, stop by Wikipedia time to time, and make a difference by contributing to Tunisian articles.

Okay, the speech is over (for now), back to me! I am getting on the road to my dorm room in a few hours, and I didn't bother to sleep (it is 2:00 am) , I guess I am too excited about meeting the people I will share my dorm room with, for the rest of the year.

I met with a friend this afternoon who gave me a book titled "I married a communist" by Philip Roth as a sort of good bye gift, not that she is generous or anything, but she was so shocked by the fact that I didn't know who Philip Roth was ( "OMG? What? You don't know P.Roth, nooooo, I can't believe it! You must be kidding me, are you sure? You poor thing) that she decided it was necessary to pass me the book, don't worry, I made my point by reminding her that she had no idea who Mahfouz was (ended up in a cat fight).

Don't forget to check out wikipedia: Search for your hometown article, edit it if needed, go to music of Tunisia and check out what can be done (wink to our musician: Emina).

Thank you all and be well!

Meet a very stressed, extremely harassed Missblogger

Thursday, inchallah, I will be moving to my dorm room, I am already a stranger in this country (technically), and I have been in this city for almost 2 years already, and here I am, moving again, to a new city (actually the big apple itself!), how anxious should I feel?

So here are some random thoughts about what is going on in my life these days:

Right now, I should be doing laundry instead of blogging.

When packing my clothes I realised I don't have a single dressy item, I mean, NOT A SINGLE dressy item! Very sober and simple T-shirts, and skirts (yeah I love skirts now), 3 pairs of THE SAME sneakers (black classec reebok if it matters), and a couple of slippers! Tribute goes to my roommates who let me borrows their -ouch so painful- high heels shoes and dressy sets.

I realise that after living in the same place for more than 3 months, I have never met my next door neighbour.

Yesterday, I have been to Mr.Philipp's funeral, Mr Philipp invited me to dinner with his wife and children a month ago when he learned that I am away from my family, we met at my workplace, may G-d grant him peace.

I am reading "Islamic Humanism" by Lenn.E Goodman, which doesn't have anything to do with my studies, and that will probably upset my father.

I really need to go get that laundry done, it shouldn't wait longer...grrr

Good day to all!

Good morning town

Hello everyone,
As most of you know, blogging is addictive. Not in a bad way of course ( yeah right...what time is it already?).
Here is another English blog ( this will probably please Tarek), I won't mind writing in other languages, so keep your dictionaries handy.
Here are a few rules you and I will try to stick to.
I will stay anonymous, please, if you know me or think you know me do respect my privacy and do not disclose any info about me ( let's keep the mystery!)
Do not post anonymous comments, I will delete any anonymous comments I find, and if you choose a name, stick with it.
Come back for more..soon!
Take care
